STUDENT GROUPS
You learn so much on the blue badge course and use so little of it. I took the time to drive through London this morning before meeting my group checking the fourth plinth at Trafalgar Square seeing if the photo stop was available on Sunday, etc. Took a group of language students around and taught them the important dates in London's history - 1066, 1666 and 1966 - and why - William the Conqueror's arrival, great Fire of London and England's sle world Cup victory at Wembley. They enjoyed the Changing of the Guard and seeing Tower Bridge but to say that their concentration levels were low would be an understatement. One in particular was complaining about the lack of lunch opportunities and others started singing every time there was a traffic delay, which was frustratingly often considering it was a Sunday. I normally do not work on a Sunday as I take it as a day off work not of work and go to church. The combination of the congestion charge in the week, no parking charges in most streets and Sunday opening make it a frustrating day for driving in the capital. Still it was £120 for a few hours work, which it will take Henry my son a week to earn in his part time pub job. Can't complain...
